9/11 Commission Finds Ties Between al-Qaeda and Iran

I'm not joking when I say we're in a good place strategically to take care of Iran if the need arises.

'I Didn't Cheat Anybody'

While I am of the opinion that Martha Stewart doesn't really deserve to be charged much less convicted or sentenced on these pissant allegations, her saying ‘Look at Nelson Mandela’ is a bit over the top. Her sycophantic fan base will love such hyperbole - queenie people usually latch on to over the top statements - but to most people, that pronouncement proves she's out of touch with the reality of her surroundings.

House Votes to Block Aid for Saudi Arabia

"Lawmakers cheered as the House of Representatives voted on Thursday to strip financial assistance for Saudi Arabia from a foreign aid bill because of criticism that the country has not been sufficiently cooperative in the U.S. war on terror."

The question now is, how will this uncooperative nation respond? They already look thge other way at a lot of crap because they don't want to dirty their flowing robes.

Anti-Fox Documentary To Appear on 2,800 Screens -- In Homes

"The liberal advocacy groups MoveOn.org and the Center for American Progress have lined up some 2,800 homes where screenings of Robert Greenwald's Outfoxed will be shown on Sunday, published reports said today (Wednesday)...The film accuses the Fox News Channel of being a mouthpiece for the Republican Party...Boston Globe media critic Mark Jurkowitz observed today (Wednesday) that while Outfoxed 'lacks traditional journalistic balance,' it nevertheless presents 'some damning material.' "

This film is being journalistically unethical to prove Fox News is journalistically unethical. The left believes tit for tat is morally acceptable - it is not, ever - and the end justifies the means. It may be revealed that not only are the people involved in this project guilty of hypocrisy, they may be more guilty of slanted journalism than their target. At least Fox News isn't openly affiliated with any political organization.

This is a battle for your mind. Stand tall.

Bounce-back

USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll results:

"If the presidential election were being held today, and it included John Kerry and John Edwards as the Democratic candidates and George W. Bush and Dick Cheney as the Republican candidates. Who would you vote for?"

Bush/Cheney 56%
Kerry/Edwards 41%

"If the presidential election were being held today, and it included John Kerry and John Edwards as the Democratic candidates, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney as the Republican candidates, and Ralph Nader and Peter Camejo as independent candidates. Who would you vote for?"

Bush/Cheney 54%
Kerry/Edwards 39%
Nader/ Camejo 4%
No opinion 3%
(Likely voters, 2004 Jul 9-11)

Shocker! Kerry picks a running mate, the press goes ga-ga, and the bounce is in Bush's court. Ralph Nader continues to be the proverbial turd in the Democrat punch bowl.

I needed some good news!

Apologies

I'm sure no one has been clicking refresh all day hoping to see new comments posted by yours truly. Sorry, but it was one of those days. I had some bad news over the weekend and...well, I'll leave it at that.

The news of the day reinforced my blue mood. The Drudge Report, which is my browser's homepage and the reason blogs exist, has one negative story after another. Even mass this morning was a real downer - the choir was absent and a visiting Archbishop from Thailand spoke of how he was tortured as a youth for not renouncing his Catholic faith for Buddhism (which I thought was a tolerant religion). The holy man could barely walk.

So I decided to spend the day in an introspective mood. Sometimes, that's the perfect activity for Sunday.
