Bush's surprise trip to Baghdad given stunning level of secrecy

Simply put, this man is amazing. He is Super-Prez!

To the Washington insiders and hangers on who love to gossip, to the press who would have loved to break this story before it happened, to the liberals who are jealous, to the enemies of freedom everywhere and especially to Sadaam Hussein and Al Qaeda, a great big FUCK YOU AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving

Although this holiday has degenerated from its lofty ambitions into a food fest, as a Louisiana man I think that is undoubtedly a change for the better. Anything that started out as a dour Calvinistic puritan exercise needs to be shaken up in my humble opinion. Life is to be lived and we can give thanks while still enjoying thy very bounty that providence hast given to us. Also, because we in Louisiana have been especially blessed, our thanksgivings have the joie de vivre that those frumpy pilgrims and half-witted savages would never be able to comprehend. So let's forget about them and keep celebrating the good life that the good Lord has given us. Remember, traditions evolve and down on the bayou we figure we've just about perfected this thing.

Thanksgiving...I'll drink to that!

It takes a Coonass to fry a Turkey right!

I greeted this FOXNews.com headline "Deep-Fried Turkey Can Be Delicious, Dangerous" with skepticism. I thought it was a nutritionist shaking her finger at us fat Americans for taking a healthy source of low-fat protein and dumping it in a deep fat fryer. I was alarmed to see that some folks started out trying to fry a turkey but ended up burning their house down. I'll bet these folks never boiled crawfish and don't know how to use what is inherently coon-ass cooking gear.

This quote says it all:

"Anything, if you don't follow the directions, can be unsafe," said Johnny McKinion, general manager of Bayou Classic, which manufactures several deep-fat fryers.

In other words, let us cajuns do those things which baffle mere mortals...or better yet, order your turkey from Popeye's!

Love That Bush!

The cover story on President George W. Bush says we are a nation divided between the Bush-lovers and the Bush-loathers. It's no surprise that I fall in the former category. This passage is telling:

Republican and Democratic voters now disagree on nearly every important measure of Bush's presidency—on whether he has enhanced this country's stature in the world, whether he's been too partisan, whether he has a good grasp of the issues, whether he favors the rich, whether he has been too quick to inject his own moral and religious beliefs into politics. Asked by TIME/CNN pollsters to describe Bush, Republicans over and over again used words like "decisive," "determined" and "strong." Democrats saw the same man in reverse image as "cocky," "arrogant" and "boneheaded." How we see George Bush tells us as much about how we see the world as about who he is.

Okay, let's take each point one-by-one...

1. "whether he has enhanced this country's stature in the world." This is a non-issue. Our President should do what is in the best interests of our nation. The world is filled with tin-horn dictators, half-witted inbred monarchs, sheiks living off the fat of their land and the backs of their people, untrustworthy communist dictators, latin military juntas and so forth. We don't need their approval for anything. Only lefties who imagine all the children of the world holding hands and singing that Coca-Cola song or Kumbaya obsess about this. Remember Ronald Reagan: Peace through strength. After all, we are the good guys.

2. "whether he's been too partisan". Funny, this complain is never levied against Democrat leaders! Frankly, I believe this president has united Republicans like never before even when they don't agree with what he is doing. I don't support this latest Medicare bill, but I understand the reason why he is trying to get it done.

3. "whether he has a good grasp of the issues". What? I think he fully understands that America wants prosperity and not to be blown to bit by terrorists.

4. "whether he favors the rich". Once again, the media shows its true colors. Only a leftie would write a sentence like that becuase they don't understand real economics. Middle class tax relief does not produce jobs; across the board tax cuts favor no one and as such are inherently fair. Besides, its not really important that we try to artificially level the playing field. Where's Ayn Rand when you need her?

5. "whether he has been too quick to inject his own moral and religious beliefs into politics". I know where this is going. This doesn't deserve a response.

I love the fact that Bush infuriates the left. Love it. They're going nuts. It's a beautiful sight!
