Lies Lies Lies Yeah!

The Clintons, Hillary! Clinton in particular, has never been about factual correctness. They';ve always been about the appearance of doing something, and having people feel good about them. Inversely, making the Republicans look eee-viille makes "Billary" (apologies to Father Chris Roussell who coined the phrase ago...long before the press invented "Bennifer", and long before he was a priest) look warm and fuzzy by contrast.

As Rich Lowry points out in his latest article on National Review Online, this has led to some major whoppers on Senator Clinton's part. Read 'em for yourself and marvel at the audacity.

When Pickets Attack

Ah, old-fashioned, buck-toothed union ruffianism! Being from a state that wears its right-to-work status like a badge of honor, I was stunned when I heard that grocery workers in California were on strike. This situation illustrates what is wrong with a liberal society, when even unskilled labor, many of whom are illegal immigrants, are organized and employ passe in-your-face AFL/CIO tactics. Stock clerks and baggers are supposed to be high school students and other part-time workers, not breadwinners. Skilled workers who make up the vast majority of trade union membership - carpenters, boilermakers, autoworkers, fire and police, etc. - should be aghast.

Singer Smith Apparently Commits Suicide

Well, I guess not everybody agrees with my previous post.

This should come as no shock to anyone who has ever listened to Elliot Smith. For this guy, suicide is a self-fufilling prophecy. He made Morrissey sound like Up With People.

Bush to Sign Partial Birth Abortion Bill

This is truly a blessed day for the culture of life in this country. As anyone who knows me is aware, I am not a religious zealot and do not condone the shamefulness that takes place in His name. I am however, a devout Catholic, which is enough to disqualify me for the federal judiciary in the eyes of the Democrats (aside from the fact that I am not an attorney.)

Conisder this with the Terri Schiavo case. Life is not something we can give to any creature. Why then should we be in a rush to end it?
